The Michigan State House adjourned their final day of voting on December 19, without taking any new votes. Therefore, all the dangerous bills that were awaiting a vote in the House, and which we asked for calls and emails to oppose, will not pass and will “die” at the end of the 2023/2024 term tomorrow, December 31!
Thank you for your extraordinary efforts voicing opposition to the following bills by reaching out to your legislator to urge a no vote:
- The “Sex Ed” bill, which would have required schools to teach abortion as a method of family planning and explain how and where to obtain an abortion;
- The “Reproductive Health Data Privacy” bill, which sought to limit the choices presented to women facing unexpected pregnancies to just abortion by preventing Pregnancy Centers from sending ads to women near abortion clinics; and
- The “Shield Law” bills, which threatened to undermine the laws of other states by allowing abortionists who broke the laws in their state to flee to Michigan to avoid accountability. The bills also would have allowed medical providers in Michigan to ship abortion pills to women in other states in which abortion is limited without legal implications.
Your efforts paid off, and these bills will not become law. These significant triumphs reinforce the impact of winning back the State House for the pro-life cause, which will make it far more difficult for abortion-obsessed politicians and activists to pass dangerous legislation along these lines in the year ahead.
